Mari Linna
Hi!
My name is Mari Linna and I’m 18 years old. I go to Vaala upper secondary school. I live in Pelso which is countryside 30 km from Vaala. I’m the second youngest of five. I have an elder brother 2 older sisters and a younger brother. I live in a big one-family house with my mom and dad and my brothers. We have three dogs and a sheep farm. My dad takes care of the farm and my mom works at a company called ProAgria.
In my free time I like to watch Netflix or hang out with my sister if she’s at home. I also sometimes play with my dogs and go for a walk with them. I love music and I love to sing (even though I can’t sing) so I’m in the choir. I like to hang out with my friends too but they live far from Pelso. I don’t talk a lot but I’m nice and I get along with everyone.
I think climate change is a bad thing. My favourite season is winter but it won’t be winter without snow.
Nuutti Karhu
Hello there!
My name is Nuutti Karhu, and I’m 17 years old. I live with my parents, and our dog. I have two siblings, a brother and a sister, but both of them have already moved out. I study in the Vaala upper secondary school, and I like mathematical subjects, mostly maths and physics.
In my spare time I like to play videogames and hang out with my friends. I like motorcycling in the summer, and snowmobiling and snowboarding in the winter. I also like to service my motorcycle myself. I’m also into music, and can somewhat play the piano.
I jumped into this project when a former participant left, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the members from the other countries.
Sofia Ervasti
Hi! My name is Sofia Ervasti and I’m a 15-year-old girl from Vaala, Finland. I live with my mum and dad. I have one elder sister who is 20 years old and lives on her own. We live at the centre of Vaala in a big single-family house. My dad’s enterprise (flower shop and undertaker’s office) is in the first floor. We have one dog called Coda.
In my free time I like to dance and sometimes I also go to gym. At weekends I meet more people because I have also friends living in the other towns. When I just want to relax I listen to music and watch Netflix. I like to travel and see different countries and people. I’m friendly and I get along with everybody.
Climate change don’t really stress me out but I feel like people should do more to prevent global warming. In Finland winters have been a little bit warmer lately.
Petra Lämsä
Hello!
My name is Petra Lämsä. I am 16 years old and I live in Vaala. I have nine siblings; five brothers and four sisters. I am the youngest, so I live with my parents in a big one-family house near the centre of Vaala.
I am in the first grade at Vaala Upper Secondary school.
I am social and I like to talk with new people. I like just chilling and hanging out with my friends. I want to be a doctor when I grow up.
Climate change is a very sad thing and I am worried about polar bears.
Oskari Karppinen
Hi!
My name is Oskari Karppinen, I’m 16 years old and I live in Vaala. I live with my mother and two younger brothers. We have also a dog called Hero. We live at the centre of Vaala in a row house. I’m in the first grade of Vaala Upper Secondary School. In my free time I like to play floorball, go to gym, go skateboarding and listen to music. Sometimes I play video games. I’m very social, I get along with everybody and I love to meet new people. I have a good sense of humour and I love dark humour.
I’m not worried about climate change, but I have noticed that it affects us. When I was a little kid I remember that in the winter it was cold, but nowadays the winter isn’t that cold at all.
Olivia Hämäläinen

Niko-Petteri Nousiainen
Hi!
My name is Niko-Petteri Nousiainen and I´m a 16-year-old boy from Finland. I live in Vaala with my mom and dad. I also have a sister but she has already moved away. I live quite near the city in one-family house. I go to upper secondary school and I´m in the first grade.

I think climate change is very dangerous and we really need to do something to slow it down. I look forward to discussing sustainable development with other students.
Luna Laine
Hi!
My name is Luna Laine and I’m 16 years old. I live in Vaala on my own and my parents and my little brother live in Oulu. My grandparents live here too and I often visit them. I have two cats, but they live with my family. My mom works in a furniture shop and my dad works in a company that sells mobile phones.
I go to Vaala Upper Secondary School. When I grow up I would like to be a vet. I like going for a walk, especially in the evening. I really don’t have hobbies, but I like to draw and paint. I am energetic, social, positive and I have a good sense of humour.
I think that climate change is a pretty bad thing. I’m afraid how it’s going to affect polar bears and life in the north.
