Iceland 2022-2023

My name is Sævar Rafn Gunnlaugsson, but I’m just called Sævar.  I am 18 years old and was born in March. 8. 2004. My hobbies are going to gym mainly lifting, learning of all kind, watching tv movie and shows, playing video games specifically Elden ring and legend of Zelda botw (breath of the wild) and reading Manga especially one piece.

I work as a waiter in a restaurant my grandparents own where my mom is the manager.

I have a mom and a dad and two younger brothers. My mom is manager at a restaurant and my dad controls all road repair on a part of a part of the ring road. Both of my brothers are still in schools.

I lived in Denmark from 2006 to 2011 when we moved to Höfn and since then I have lived here. I was in the project last year, so I am more used to this than most of the other students.

I am hoping to finish school this year and going to a school in Copenhagen, but I may have to practice Danish a lot before it. I also have a goal to get a 200-kilo deadlift before the end of the year and it’s going well, and I think I will get soon, and need make it higher.

I think life in water is very important especially because water plants produce way more oxygen than the plants on land. And they are in more danger because of the seas souring which if not fixed can cause a horrible chain reaction.

Hi, my name is Lilja Dögg I am from Iceland Höfn. I am 17 years old. I’m in a family of 6, my dad Einar who is 39 years old, my stepmom who is 39 and her name is Þórhildur but is called Tóta, I also have a brother who is 3 years old his name is Kristján Guðni and then I am expecting a baby sister in October. We also have a dog. Her name is Embla and she is a 7 years old Labrador.

My interest is watching tv shows and taking care of my little brother. I also like to stay inn most of the time but I go outside if my friends ask me to.

My best friend is also participating in this project. Her name is Ólöf Auður and she is also my emotional support.

I do not have a plan for the future right now, but I like to be with kids. I am looking forward meeting new people.

Hi guys! My name is Ólöf, I’m 16 almost 17 years old in November. I am in a family of 5 and we live in Höfn, my mom; Kristín works in the tourist centre for Vatnajökull, my dad; Ingólfur is a chef, my brother; Sævar is a tourist guide on the glacier Vatnajökull, and he’s also a paramedic and then there’s my sister; Halldóra who works as a guide in a lava cave.

I am also a newly mother…of a puppy, no worries, haha. My puppy´s name is Assa, and she is a yellow Labrador retriever. I recently worked in a restaurant in town but am taking a brake to focus on school and the rescue team in town.

My hobbies are hunting with my dad, spending time with Assa and I recently got interest in cars, I’m currently modifying my car to make it more interesting and pretty. My dream cars are Mazda Miata, Toyota Landcruiser 80 and supra mk3. I am currently the commodore of the teenager’s search rescue team in Höfn which is called Brandur, I really like being in the rescue team, I have learn’t a lot in my 4 years there like how to do cpr (first aid) and many other things. I have always enjoyed being outside and exploring new things! Me and Lilja are each other’s emotional support

In the future I want to become a veterinarian or just anything related to animals! I have always loved being around animals, and I have owned dogs and sheep since I was little! But I also see myself as a snowmobile guide on the glacier since I love snowmobiling.

I am not the best in English, but I am going to try my best! Can´t wait to meet you guy´s : )

My name is Laufey Ósk Hafsteinsdóttir and I am 17 years old, born on January 18^th  2005 which makes me a Capricorn. I was born and raised in the town Höfn í Hornafirði. I came out a year ago to everybody that I am a lesbian, but I have known that since I remembered myself, so I stop pretending to be somebody I am not, and that only taught me to be an honest person to myself. My hobbies are photography and golf, I have been playing golf since I was 7 years old and if some of you know what hcp is then I have 26hcp in golf. My hobby of photography started last year, and next year I am moving to the capital to learn photography in a school downtown Reykjavík called Tækniskólinn. I work at the fanciest restaurant in town called Pakkhúsið and by working there I got to buy my dream car. I am a good waiter, and I would love to take you out to wine and dine 😉 (girls only)

I am an open person and making friends is like opening a soda can for me. I have a good humour and I can make you laugh at any time.

I live with my mom and stepdad. My mother’s name is Stefania and my stepdad´s name is Þröstur and he is 53 years old and my little puppy Moli, he is 7 weeks old, and he is a king cavalier. My biological dad´s name is Hafsteinn, and he is 44 years old. I have one biological brother, his name is Sigursteinn, and he is 20 years old, and 3 stepsisters, their names are Nadía Nótt and she is 10. Þórey she is 20, and Jóhanna she is 29 years old.

Two of my best friends are coming as well Hafdís and Amylee and we have dreamt about going out of our country and travel together, so I am extremely excited to visit Norway and all of you who is going with us on this journey.

Hi, my name is Júlíana Rós Sigurðardóttir and I am 18 years old. I was born on March 31^st, 2004. I live in Höfn and I am starting my 3^rd and last year in FAS. I have one sister whose name is Eydís Arna Sigurðardóttir and she is 20 years old. My mom is Jóhanna Ásgeirsdóttir, she is a store manager at the liquor store and my dad is Sigurður Jón Skúlason and he is a captain of the boat Vigur SF-080.

I work as a team gymnastic coach. I have been coaching gymnastics for 6 years now and I also used to practice gymnastics for 15 years. I also take some extra shifts at the reception in Milk factory guesthouse. My plans after I finish high school are to work for a year and then move to Reykjavík to go to college or work.

My passion is watching tv, CrossFit, and doing absolutely nothing. Sometimes in my free time I go out for a walk with my dog whose name is Lóa, she is an Icelandic sheep dog. She is very beautiful just like her mom (me).

My name is Hafdís Ósk Harðardóttir and I´m 17 years old. My birthday is on the 19th of May, and I was born in 2005.

I live in Höfn with my parents, younger sister, Ísold, and 2 cats, Mozart and Baldur. My 2 older sisters, Íris and Anna moved to Reykjavík but in the summer, they come to Höfn to work. My mom, Elínborg works at the local pharmacy and my dad, Andrés is a fisherman. I also like playing video games when I´m not in school or working at N1 (gas station). AND I also like hanging out with my friends and go on electric scooters with them.

And I love cats.

Hi, my name is Dagmar Lilja Óskarsdóttir. I am 18 years old, turning 19 the 24th of November. I live in a small town called Höfn and I am a student in Framhaldsskólinn -Austur-Skaftafellssýslu (FAS). I am the oldest of three siblings, my brother is 11 and his name is Ari Jökull and my sister Elín Ósk is 15 years old. My parents are Íris Heiður and Óskar and they have a company called Ice Guide where they go on kayak and ice cave tours.

My passions are singing, and song writing, and I love animals. I´ve been singing since I can remember myself and I want to pursue that in the future. My dream is to go to a music school in Denmark. I also love traveling and my favourite place I ‘ve been to are Denmark and London.

My favourite music artists are Stevie wonder, Beyoncé, Earth-wind and fire and Queen. I went to the local elementary school, Grunnskóli Hornafjarðar and this summer I worked at a work school with kids from age 13 to 15 and I was teaching them how to work basically.

My name is Aron Freyr Borgarsson, and I am 17 years old. I work at the local airport checking people in, loading, and unloading the planes, signaling the plane where to park, and preparing it for takeoff

I live with my parents which is a 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn. I am the second youngest child of five which include 3 sisters and 1 brother. I am approximately 185 cm tall and stand the tallest of my siblings. My father’s name is Borgar and he works as a guide, and guides people to fish, he sometimes guides people on snowmobiles, geese hunting and he owns a company that mainly goes to ice caves. My mother’s name is Helga, and she works at the local supermarket.

I don’t really have big hobbies other than being with friends no matter if it’s going out, driving around town, or playing video games. But I spend my free time alone watching tv.

I don’t have any Future plans per say but I am studying to become an engineer but who knows what I will be doing in a few years.

My name is Amylee and I’m 17 years old. I was born in Brazil and came to Iceland in 2013 when I was 7 years old. I live in Höfn, which is a small town in southeast Iceland with my parents, Luiz and Alessandra, my older brother, Gabriel, and my younger sister Eva and she is the cutest! 😊.

Höfn is a touristic town, and it is known for the glaciers nearby and the lobster festival. The lobster festival is in June and it´s basically a time where there´s a lot of tourists and festivities like the local marching band plays around the town in the places where people have lobster soup, parties, and an extremely fun weekend.

Here´s a few things I like to do; write songs, play with my band Fókus, listen to music, hang out with my friends, go to the gym and read romance books heheh. My favourite bands are: The Foo fighters, Muse, Queen, and ABBA. I also play the French horn and I used to play volleyball.

I chose this class because I wanted to meet new people and their culture.

Hello – My name is Almar Páll Lárusson and I just turned 17 years old. I am a boy from the town Höfn í Hornafirði. I have two sister that are twins and will turn 14 this year. Both my parents work in the local middle school.

I love Nature and good-looking art even though I could not draw to save my life. I like watching sports, playing video game and tabletop games. I am an avid fan of history and space exploration. This summer I worked in an information centre for Vatnajökull national park, I learned a lot about the state of the park and the glacier itself (also had to deal with a lot of tourists…).

My dream is to become an engineer and go to university in the United States. I chose this class because I want to travel and meet new people, I am excited to see our fellow Nordic countries and learn how they are combating climate change. Shoutout to #annalaraginger on twitter.
