We all know that we can do so much better recycling, cleaning and taking better care the world. We could start by recycling and throwing away our disposal in the trash, travel less, stop buying too much food and throw away, decrease our shopping (I know it´s hard i feel your pain) and stop driving if you can walk or cycle. We just need to start somewere because what we are doing is harming the nature, lives and the most important the world.
I chose this class because I like to travel, meet new people and see some other culture.
Love Arna
Aníta Aðalsteinsdóttir

All the plastic that is all over the world is bad due to global warming and we are putting too much CO2 into the atmosphere and are polluting the air. We are using far too litle natural energy sources (actually not in Iceland), we are consuming far too much energy sources too fast. For example if you were to go to China, you would most likely have to wear a mask, not because of covid-19 but because of the pollution.
Karen Ása Benediktsdóttir
My name is Karen Ása Benediktsdóttir. I´m 17 years old. I’m from Höfn. I have 4 siblings, one brother, and three sisters, they are all older than me. I also have a husky dog. My dad is a fisherman and he has a degree in baking and my mother is a housewife.
My hobbies are the gym, fashion, travel, and watching Netflix. I am a gymnastic coach and sometimes I take shifts as a waitress at Pakkhúsið.
I don’t know what I want to do in the future but I think it will include some kind of fashion. I chose this course because it sounded exciting and fun.
I think global warming is bad, but if COVID19 has done something right, it is helping for global warming because now we can’t travel as much as we did and many the big companies were closed for a while. And that caused less pollution.
Guðrún Brynjólfsdóttir
Hi, my name is Guðrún Brynjólfsdóttir and I am 17 years old. I have two brothers, Kolbeinn 15 years old and Kjartan who is 13 years old. My mom name is Guðrún Dadda and she works at the town office. My dad name is Brynjólfur but always called Binni, he works at Húsasmiðjan which is a building store.
My hobbies are hanging out with my friends, volleyball and watching Netflix. I work at a pizza place with school. My future plans are to finish school then go to college to learn sociology the rest isn’t decided yet. I chose to do this because I wanted to go to other countries and it looked like fun.
My attitude towards the world goal number 13 is that we all have to do our best at this time. Everyone should recycle and try to reduce the use of cars. I don’t know if I really see any change on the environment here but I have notice the reduction of the glaciers, and that’s really sad.
Ástrós Aníta Óskarsdóttir
Hi, my name is Ástrós Aníta, and I’m 19 years old. I’m from Höfn, Iceland. I have seven siblings, two brothers, and five sisters. My sibling’s names and ages are Victoría Rós 21, Kristmar Helgi 19, Arnrún Mist 18, Óðinn Þór 14, Árný Erla 13, Klara Margrét 11 and Hrafney Saga 6. My mom’s name is Dagbjört and she is 40 years old and my dad’s name is Jón and he is 38 years old. They work at Húsasmiðjan, which is a building store. I do not live with my parents anymore, I live with my boyfriend Sölvi, he is 22 years old electrician, and my cat Oreo. We live a little bit outside of Höfn and that is pretty amazing because we have a beautiful nature around us.
My hobbies are being with friends and family and I also love to travel. I choose this course because I have done similar before, and I loved it and it’s different from the other courses. When I graduate from this school, I’m going to learn to be an ornamental gardener. I like to work outside and make a beautiful change to gardens.
What I think of climate change is not good. I do not like how the glaciers are melting and seeing all the plastic in our nature.
Tómas Orri Hjálmarsson
Hello, my name is Tómas, I am 17 years old and I have 2 siblings, a sister and a brother, both younger than me. My father is a physio therapist, and my mother is the mayor of this town. My hobbies are mostly basketball and golf, I spend almost all my time playing/training basketball and I intend on using basketball to go to America to play college ball and study there. Other than that, I have no plans for the future or what I want to do.
I chose this class because I wanted to go abroad and study, and see some other culture, which I think is really interesting and opens up your mind on other things than just this little town in this small town. I also want to see what Norway is doing to hinder the global warming and if they are doing something that we in Iceland are not doing or if we are doing something that they are not doing.
I care about the environment and the global warming really affects me and this country. Especially this town, because we have a big glacier, “Vatnajökull” just in sight from the town, and a lot of the tourist activity in this town is because of this glacier, that is one of the reasons I care about the environment and global warming. I also don’t want the world to suffer so much and the oxygen level and the affects it has on life in the sea happen because that will affect everybody in some years.
Maria Romy
My name is Maria Romy and I am 18 years old. I live in Höfn. I lived in Reykjavík until I was 5 years old and then I moved to Höfn. I have two younger sisters; one is 14 and the other is 12 years old. My dad is an aircraft engineer and my mom is a housewife. I have a dog and a cat. I am mixed my mom is from Iceland and my father is from Ethiopia and I have a lot of families there and I love to go there.
My hobbies are listening to music and being with my friends and family, I am also very interested in clothes and fashion.
I have not yet decided on my future, but I mostly want to be a pilot and see the world.
I chose this course because I wanted to try something new and it is always fun to learn new things about the world and different cultures and meet people from other countries.
My thoughts on Climate Change in the world is that we should recycle things and try to get rid of plastic we should also not use our car if we don’t need to and walk or cycle, it is so sad how everything is changed in the world like melting of the glaciers and the weather in the world is changing a lot.
Júlíus Aron Larsson
My name is Júlíus Aron Larsson and I am a 17-year-old boy from Höfn. I live in Höfn with my parents, two brothers and my dog. My dad works as a paramedic and a carpenter and my mom as a teacher in the local elementary school.
My main hobby is football playing as a goalkeeper for the senior team and also in the under 19‘s. I love to travel and I travel a lot with the football team due to how far away Höfn is from the nearest town and 6 hours from the capital where most of the teams from our league play. As well as football I am also very interested in big Icelandic jeeps, playing Fantasy premier league, and going to the gym to train powerlifting mostly. My goal for the future is to become a chiropractor and study it in the US hopefully on a football scholarship. My perspective towards the climate change is that of course we are polluting too much.
I think that of course we could do better in things like recycling and throwing away our disposal in the trash but when it comes to the public transports such as planes, cars, ships and trains i think that is just something that has become a part of our world and I think is not going anywhere, even though the electric cars would replace the gasoline one they are still as bad. I think we will be able to get the world to the right place, but it will take its time and not only a few years.
Harpa Sigríður Óskarsdóttir
Hello my fellow students!

My hobbies are to go out running and, in the winter, I train sometimes cross-country skiing. My future is that I want to be a chiropractor.
I am very happy that I am in this class and excited to meet new people in other countries. I didn’t sign me up for this course myself, but my teacher did it for me because I needed an extra course so I can graduate next spring. It is not my first time that I am working with Erasmus+. I went to France summer 2018 for one month and I was working in a Michelin star restaurant as a chef apprentice.
